Have you had the experience of teaching a class and wondering if anyone is listening, let alone following what you are saying? Are you overwhelmed by the range of abilities in your classes and wanting to know more about how to differentiate your teaching to reach all students? This workshop may not focus as much on specific ICT tools as others offered on Monday 27th, but it will provide an introduction to some ideas about how to use language to facilitate deeper learning , what is differentiation and how you might incorporate this into your planning and other aspects of teaching for the 21st Century. Join this workshop to share ideas, discuss the issues and find out about some new approaches being used in schools today .
Twitter and developing your PLN (Professional Learning Network) - Chris Munari
This is a workshop for beginners. You will find out what Twitter is, and how it has evolved, learn the correct jargon, sign up for an account, understand the Twitter page layout, and begin to send and receive tweets. More importantly, you'll learn how to search for relevant educational experts and/or colleagues who you can follow, thus building up your own Personal Learning Network (PLN).
Flipping your Classroom - Naomi O'Connor Part One - Moving from being the 'sage on the stage'
Participants (in the role of student) will watch a short 'flipped lecture' that students would typically watch 'outside' of class Part Two - To the "guide on the side"
Particpants will experience a 'hands on' way to run a lesson after a 'flipped lecture' using an Inquiry Learning tool called 'Question Dice'
